Don Hutchison: Salomon Rondon has played his last game in an Everton shirt

Don Hutchison believes that Salomon Rondon will not be at Everton next season after his reckless tackle against Brentford.

The Toffees ended up losing 3-2 over the weekend and the Venezuelan attacker saw himself getting sent off for a lunge.

With just two games left until the end of the season, Hutchison, a Sky Sports pundit, does not see Rondon play again for Everton.

Speaking on Premier League Productions’ Fanzone, “This will be Rondon’s last game in an Everton shirt. This leaves the referee nowhere to go.”

Good riddance

Everton’s financial dilemmas coupled with Rafa Benitez’s influence saw Rondon arrive at Goodison Park in the summer.

He joined on a free so there will not be many to criticise the club for financial mismanagement regarding this situation.

But having the quality of players like Rondon is why Everton are where they are, in the first place.

He is in no way a Premier League level striker, let alone at a club that aims to fight for European places.

Most relegation-threatened teams would want none of Rondon and it’s baffling how such a huge club like Everton took the punt on him.

Like how they did with Anthony Gordon, the club should have promoted some of the younger attackers like Lewis Dobbin or maybe even recall Nathan Broadhead from his loan spell in January.
