Salomon Rondon sends heartfelt message after Everton loss v Brentford
Salomon Rondon has issued an apology on Instagram after he picked up a red card during Everton versus Brentford on Sunday (15 May).
The Toffees have suffered a big blow in their survival hopes after they lost 3-2 against Brentford at Goodison Park, where they were left with nine men on the pitch.
Rondon replaced Seamus Coleman as Frank Lampard looked for an equaliser. However, the Venezuelan striker was sent off following a poor challenge shortly after he came on.

He wrote on his Instagram story: “I always give my all on the pitch. I always want to help my club, teammates and fans.
“I tried to do that today and know that I wasn’t up to it in one incident and I’m truly sorry. My apologies from the bottom of my heart to the whole Everton family.”
Time up?
Rondon joined in the summer transfer window as a free agent, and he has a contract at the club till the end of the season.
The experienced striker has played a peripheral role this season, and chances are high that he will be allowed to leave at the end of the season, although the Toffees do have an option to keep him for another year.
It means he may have played his last game for the club.
This was the perfect opportunity for Rondon to be a hero. With Everton trailing 3-2, he could have played a massive role and earned his side a crucial point.

However, he made a poor tackle, and was immediately sent off. With that Everton’s hopes faded.
The Toffees made such a strong start but the red card to Jarrad Branthwaite changed the momentum.
Everton still fought back and took the lead at the break. However, two quick goals proved to be the turning point of the match.
The Toffees can still secure their Premier League safety with a win against Crystal Palace in their next game.
