Everton have major issue with lucrative contracts having no relegation clauses – report
Frank Lampard is under major pressure to keep Everton in the Premier League this season.
A win over Crystal Palace on Thursday evening [19 May] would see the Toffees’ top-flight status secured ahead of the final day trip to Arsenal this weekend.
The Daily Mail has found that huge lucrative contracts at Goodison Park currently contain no relegation clauses, making these two games bigger than ever.

Writing for the Daily Mail, Mike Keegan has shared that no wages would drop automatically if Everton fell into the Championship, with huge salaries everywhere.
“There are fat salaries everywhere and a strategic review, the findings of which are being implemented, will no doubt have focused on that area,” he said.
“The key issue is whether the lucrative contracts dished out contain any form of relegation reductions and word is that they do not.
“No pressure, Frank…”

Shocker.
Maybe this season will act as a reality shock for Farhad Moshiri.
It could eventually teach him that just throwing money at your problems with no real thought isn’t going to help you, in the end, you need to be smart with how you do it.
New signings from the start of the summer could find themselves with relegation clauses in their contracts should they come to Goodison Park, and that would be smart.
This season has proved that no one is too good to go down into the Championship, but thankfully, Lampard looks to have done enough as things stand.
Lose our next two games and we could be in for a very nervous wait though, especially if Leeds and Burnley win, which could then end up in relegation.
Going down would crash the club into financial doom, so we have everything crossed that we stay in the Premier League, but then sort out this current mess in a new, fresh start.
