Ian Wright shocked by Salomon Rondon tackle in Everton loss v Brentford
Ian Wright has been left shocked by what Everton striker Salomon Rondon did in the defeat against Brentford.
The Venezuelan ended his season early by receiving his marching orders in the 3-2 loss where he was handed a straight red.
Looking at the footage of the video from Goodison Park, Wright was not happy with the 32-year-old endangering the safety of the opposition with such challenges.
Speaking on the Kelly & Wrighty Show, Wright said, “Rondon’s tackle, what is he doing? What did he think he was doing? They need to be focused.”
Needs to be gone
This may not only be Rondon’s last game of the season but could also be his last in an Everton jersey.
He was signed under mysterious circumstances and was another bad decision made by Rafa Benitez in charge of the club.
However, he does not strengthen the first eleven and even when he’s on the pitch, he does not offer the X-Factor needed to get the job done.
Managers cannot trust him to score goals from tight spaces and that’s something that is needed in number nines these days.
It could be the best thing for the club as well as the player to seek a fresh start this summer.
Massive changes are needed at Goodison Park regardless of whether or not Frank Lampard manages to keep them up.
