Insiders insist Alex Iwobi wages at Everton would make people ‘weep’ – report

Insiders have insisted that the wages of Alex Iwobi at Everton would make everyone “Weep” despite huge relegation concern at Goodison Park this season.

The Daily Mail has shared what would happen if the Toffees were relegated, and it would be financial doom given some of the contracts on offer at Goodison Park.

Thankfully, a win over Crystal Palace on Thursday evening would secure our safety, and based on this information, it would certainly help Iwobi if he was the one to mastermind a result.

Writing in his latest piece for the Daily Mail, Mike Keegan shared the lowdown on issues such as the wages of some individuals at Goodison Park.

“Sound bizarre? It gets better,” he wrote. “At the time, the £28m paid to Arsenal for Alex Iwobi seemed about £20m too much.

“Insiders say the former Gunner’s weekly salary would make you weep. In fairness to Iwobi, who may well play a key role in keeping the Toffees up, he is far from the only one that applies to.”

Everton

Weep.

Given how Farhad Moshiri has spent his money at the club, we can only imagine how much the likes of Iwobi are currently on at Goodison Park.

Apart from the last few months, the Nigerian international has been nothing short of shocking, but this revival in midfield has certainly put him in the good books.

Kevin Thelwell has come in to help Frank Lampard, and this is one of the main issues that will need fixing in the upcoming summer in Merseyside.

Even if Everton are not relegated, with looks to be the case right now, a huge clearout is needed.

Players currently sitting on huge wages need to be let go if they don’t earn it out on the pitch, so that could apply to more than half of the squad.

You can’t just throw money at your problems and expect them to go away, as we have learned, so now it is time to recoup some of that cash and get them off our books.

Is Iwobi still playing for his future? Time will tell.
