Simon Jordan savages Farhad Moshiri for current Everton situation

Simon Jordan has emptied both barrels on Farhad Moshiri for appointing Rafa Benitez as the Everton manager.

The talkSPORT host believes that Moshiri’s horrible running of the club has led to them fighting a relegation battle and also battling FFP concerns.

There are also worries about a possible points deduction and Jordan has singled it down to the way Moshiri has let all of it happen under his watch.

Speaking on talkSPORT, he said, “Was he [Moshiri] sleeping under a rock? His style of play was never going to excite the fans. He said some things about the club in the past. You’ve got a manager the fans are waiting to go bad.

“If you do not know Benitez is a contentious appointment, then what are you doing? Everton are where they are because of how the owner runs the club.

“You’ve got the FFP situation where they’re not sanctioned but controlled. They cannot go and spend in the same way as before.”

Spot on

It’s funny how isolated Moshiri is with the plight of Everton fans and what they want from the club hierarchy.

They’re sitting and helplessly watching a giant of a football club being driven to the ground.

It’s not that Moshiri has been a stingy owner, far from it, the investments have been in comparison with Europe’s elite.

However, where the money has gone and who the people are that have allocated these funds are the problematic ones.

At the end of the day, these are people the owner brought into the picture and handed them jobs at the club.

Even Benitez was a foolish appointment from the outset and it took very little time for things to fully unravel.
