Joleon Lescott predicts result of Everton v Arsenal

Joleon Lescott has predicted Everton and Arsenal to share the spoils when they take on each other in the Premier League on Sunday [May 22].

While the Toffees have nothing left to play for after securing Premier League safety by beating Crystal Palace, the Gunners need to win and hope Tottenham Hotspur drop points in order to qualify for the top four.

However, Lescott does not see his former side being pushovers and predicts a draw from this one.

Speaking to Livescore, the BT Sport pundit said, “It looked like both teams would need a result from this game a week ago but now it may prove almost irrelevant. Everton are playing with a new-found freedom and can frustrate the Gunners.”

Party time

There’s going to be a party atmosphere among the travelling support for the game on Sunday.

Evertonians were ecstatic after their side managed to avoid relegation after looking nailed on for it a few weeks ago.

The players have risen to the occasion when they need to and the Goodison Park support too, have played a tremendous role in getting the club over the line.

We cannot wait for next season to begin and the perfect way to end this campaign is by winning against a team that has aspirations of the top four.

It will be a signal of intent from Frank Lampard as he will have beaten all Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal in his relatively short stint at Goodison Park.

He certainly needs to be backed in the summer and the players must put on a show for him in the final league game of the campaign.

In other Everton news, a football finance expert has made a claim on the new Toffees stadium amid a major £300m development in the recent weeks.
