Everton want to sign Burnley attacker Maxwel Cornet as relegation clause triggered
Everton want to sign Burnley attacker Maxwel Cornet this summer as the Clarets were relegated from the Premier League, according to Mike McGrath.
The Telegraph journalist has reported that the Toffees are taking a good look at the £17.5million relegation clause that has now been triggered in the past week.
It is suggested that West Ham United will rival Everton for the signing of the Ivorian, who did score against the Blues at Turf Moor on that gloomy night.

Frank Lampard is said to be looking for attacking reinforcements for his squad.
Cornet is said to be available on the cheap for a player who settled into the Premier League so quickly, and has good international experience with the Ivory Coast.
With big doubts surrounding the futures of Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, options are being prepared just in case they need to be replaced already.
Clubs may need to move quickly to get this one done though given how much of a bargain it could be.

Solid.
This is the type of smart business that Farhad Moshiri has been lacking for years.
Marcel Brands oversaw some of the most expensive, shocking transfers we have ever seen, and a new era has clearly already begun at Goodison Park.
Bringing in players like Cornet would be sensational, as they have proven they can shine at the top level, and they are available on the cheap – rather than over £50million.
Kevin Thelwell, working closely with Lampard will be looking for bargain deals over the coming weeks and months given the tight Financial Fair Play restrictions.
The only hurdle is potentially beating West Ham to this deal given that they can offer European football to Cornet, although will he be guaranteed a start at the London Stadium? We think not.
Should someone like Richarlison leave the Toffees, Cornet would be guaranteed to be a star of this squad.
Make it happen.
