Ellis Simms rise could spell end of Everton career for Salomon Rondon

Footage has emerged of Ellis Simms being an ice-cold finisher in front of goal and he could be in line for a key role in the Everton team next season.

Rather than overpaying for someone like Salomon Rondon, they could unleash the youngster after an impressive loan spell at Hearts.

Rondon, who joined on a free transfer in the summer, has failed to live up to the billing and could be shown the door if Simms is given a first-team role.

90Min journalist Chris Smith posed a suggestion on Twitter that Frank Lampard could and should take heed of ahead of the new season.

Smith wrote, “Obviously a big difference between Scotland and England, but Ellis Simms is clearly a clinical finisher, fast, strong, & has good movement.

“I’d love to see how he could develop under Frank Lampard. More value in someone like Simms being #Everton’s backup striker than a high earner like Rondon”

Simms posted footage of his goals from his Twitter account and he can provide Lampard with everything he needs off the bench as a Plan B.

Hopefully, Rondon leaves and the club do not sign has-beens just because they once worked under the current head coach.

There needs to be thorough planning about the future and players like the Venezuelan are the club for a paycheck without really contributing to the results.
