Everton target Miguel Almiron’s agent opens up on Newcastle future

Newcastle United winger Miguel Almiron’s agent stated that his client has no intention of moving to Everton or Fulham in the summer transfer window.

The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from St. James’ Park ahead of the start of the next campaign, as reported by NBC journalist Roberto Rojas.

However, Almiron’s agent Daniel Campos, while talking to Versus Radio, stated that the Paraguay international’s future is likely to be with the Magpies.

“Miguel has two years left on his contract,” he said. “There are always rumours about players in the transfer market. However, we don’t have any definitive interest shown by any club. Usually, the clubs negotiate within themselves but don’t contact the agent.

“He has a release clause of £60million. He is happy to stay at the club and most importantly, he is playing.”

A Working Machine

Miguel Almiron is the kind of attacking player that can be classified as a working unit. He has the ability to run all day long and can be equally important to the team on the defensive side of things as well.

The 28-year-old has made 110 Premier League appearances for Newcastle, scoring nine goals and contributing three assists.

He has a crossing accuracy of 21% during his Newcastle career, which is rather low considering his price tag at the time of his arrival.

His only golden moment this season was a stunning strike against Crystal Palace which was also his first goal since February 2021.

His pace and ability to press was perhaps one of the primary reasons which made Frank Lampard his big admirer as he must believe that the left-footed player’s pace can be lethal to his counter-attacking system

Almiron joined Newcastle in the summer of 2019 from MLS side Atlanta in a deal worth £21.6 million.
