Leeds United will likely need to fight off Everton and Newcastle to sign Valentin Castellanos
Leeds United are likely going to have to fight off the likes of Everton and Newcastle to secure the signing of New York City FC striker Valentin Castellanos, according to 90min.
The online outlet has reported on their website that the Toffees have been strongly linked with the Argentinian talisman, along with the likes of West Ham too.
It is suggested that Leeds are most interested, although a fight could ensue for one of the hottest properties over in Major League Soccer [MLS].

Frank Lampard certainly has more pressing issues to solve at this moment in time.
The heart of his defence and midfield appear to be the main two priorities, and until those are sorted, no other moves will likely be made at Goodison Park.
This will become interesting if players start to get sold, though.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison have been heavily linked with the exit door this summer, and if one was to leave for big money, Castellanos could be the perfect replacement.

Perfect.
Imagine how amazing it would be if Lampard snatched one of Leeds’ biggest targets from under their noses.
As we said, a move for the South American is very unlikely unless one of our own is sold in the final third, but right now, nothing appears to be close.
Improving squad depth in defence and midfield will be the priority, with our options in the final third currently very good, although another striker would help.
Farhad Moshiri would make money available, we know that, but the Financial Fair Play constraints would prevent much of it being spent until that is sorted.
The Toffees are in a sticky patch right now, and teams such as Leeds and definitely Newcastle may be able to pay much more for signings, and clubs such as New York City are going to sell to the highest bidder.
This is certainly one to watch, but we wouldn’t expect it to happen at this moment in time.
