Everton must make statement by signing Burnley star Maxwel Cornet
Everton have been linked with a move for Burnley star Maxwel Cornet in the summer transfer window, according to 90min.
After the Clarets’ relegation, the 25-year-old’s future at the club remains in doubt as he has been attracting interest from a number of Premier League outfits.
The Toffees are the latest name added to the long list of Cornet’s admirers with manager Frank Lampard keen on strengthening the side for the next campaign.

The 25-year-old only completed his move to the Clarets last season and was one of the few bright sparks of their disappointing season and is now said to be available for only £17.5million.
However, it was reported that the likes of West Ham are also interested in what could turn into a transfer war.

Dream signing
The best thing about Cornet is that he can play in many positions. Although his preference is the left-wing position, he can play as a left-back and a wing-back.
The Ivory Coast international scored nine goals in 21 matches in the recently concluded Premier League season. He single-handedly used to create chances for a Burnley side that were simply fragile in the attack.
As their right-back position is covered for the time being with Seamus Coleman, the left-back role has always been a question mark for the Toffees. Ever since Leighton Baines left the club, the Liverpool-based club always struggled to fill that position.
Lucas Digne filled that role for a while but since his departure to Aston Villa in the January transfer window, Everton are once again looking for permanent solutions on the left side of their defensive unit.
If the Toffees manage to complete transfers like Cornet and retain their star players as well, the fans will definitely going to see a much improved Everton side in the next season.
