Everton signing Burnley defender Ben Mee will be good business
Everton are interested in making a move for Burnley defender Ben Mee in the summer transfer window, according to the Mirror.
The Toffees are in the market to strengthen their defensive unit after managing to escape relegation in the last campaign.
As per the latest report, the Liverpool-based club’s hierarchy has identified Mee as one of the potential candidates to strengthen Everton’s backline.

Mee’s current contract with Burnley is set to expire on June 30th and as things stand, it does not look like the Clarets will offer a new deal to their veteran centre-back.

Decent fit
Mee has been one of the most underrated defenders of the Premier League in the last decade.
He was an important part of the Burnley side that got promoted to the English top-flight in 2016 and secured the third-best home record in the Premier League.
Mee was one of the biggest reasons why Burnley were always classified as ‘stubborn’ and tough to break down.
He played 376 games for the Clarets, scoring 12 goals. He has given some outstanding performances for the club, mainly his performance at Anfield last season, which broke Liverpool’s unbeaten streak at home.
In the recently concluded Premier League season, the 32-year-old made 1.2 tackles and 1.1 interceptions per game.
Even though he doesn’t have outstanding passing accuracy, he is very difficult to play against and in a team like Everton who conceded as many as 66 goals in just 38 league matches, Mee would be an ideal inclusion ahead of the next campaign.
