Brentford ready to blow Everton out of water in bid to land Christian Eriksen
Brentford are set to blow Everton out of the water to strike a new deal for playmaker Christian Eriksen, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper reported via their print edition on 4 June (page 114) that Everton and Tottenham are keen on signing the 30-year-old, who joined Brentford on a short-term deal in January.
However, it is understood that the Bees are prepared to make the Denmark international their “highest-paid player” in order to keep him in West London.
At least try
All we’re asking for is for Everton to have a go at signing Eriksen because he’s a top-class player who’ll definitely improve Frank Lampard’s squad on Merseyside.
After his cardiac arrest at the European Championships in the summer of 2021, many thought that Eriksen’s career would be over.
However, he’s been absolutely amazing for Brentford after signing for them in January 2022.
In his 11 Premier League appearances for Thomas Frank’s side, the ex-Spurs playmaker scored one goal and supplied four assists – one of which being against Everton at Goodison Park on 15 May.
Brentford’s impressive finish in their first Premier League season can be owed massively to Eriksen and the impact he had with the Danish ace proving that he’s not done yet and he can still offer a lot to teams.
Everton will do very well to sign him but we wouldn’t blame him at all for staying on at Brentford because they’re the club who gave him a chance.
As for the Blues, we’re crying out for a midfielder with Eriksen’s quality and we’d absolutely love to see him on Merseyside playing in blue next season.
