Tottenham to use Harry Winks in player-plus-cash transfer for Everton star Richarlison

Tottenham could use Harry Winks in a player-plus-cash deal to sign Everton forward Richarlison this summer, according to the Mail on Sunday.

The newspaper reported via their print edition on 12 June (page 144) that Spurs are ready to take advantage of Everton’s needs to raise funds this summer and they want to sign £80million-rated Brazilian Richarlison.

It is understood that Spurs are not willing to pay over £50million for the 25-year-old and they could use Winks, 26, as a makeweight to strike an agreement as Everton have already approached the Londoners with an enquiry about the English midfielder.

No deal

We saw in the latter stages of the 2021/22 season how vital Richarlison is for Everton.

Without him in games against Chelsea and Leicester, we could have been relegated from the Premier League for the first time ever.

Everton have every right to demand £80million for the Brazil international because that’s how much he’s worth to us.

And if Spurs think they can get him for £50million, they’re having a laugh.

Adding Winks into an offer, as well as the £50million, would be an interesting one and it might not be easy for the Blues to turn down as the 10-times England international is a wanted man Goodison Park.

However, we still don’t feel as though that would be a good enough proposition because there’s no way that Winks would make up the extra £30million value that Everton would want.

He’s barely played for Spurs in the last year, featuring in just nine starting line-ups in the 2021/22 Premier League season and mainly being used for European and domestic cup games.

Still, Winks is an upgrade on some of the players we’ve got and exits for Fabian Delph, Andre Gomes, Gyfli Sigurdsson and Donny van de Beek emphasise our need for midfield reinforcements.

In other Everton news, the Blues could be forced into a big sale as Usmanov’s name is mentioned in a transfer report.
