Tottenham in advanced talks to sign Everton star Richarlison as £150m Daniel Levy reveal emerges

Tottenham are in “advanced negotiations” over a deal to sign Everton forward Richarlison for around £50million, according to The Mirror.

The newspaper reported on 15 June that the Blues have told interested clubs that they’ll have to pay up to £120million for the 25-year-old Brazil international.

However, it is understood that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has handed manager Antonio Conte a transfer war chest of £150million to spend this summer and it seems the Italian is ready to use one-third of that on signing Richarlison.

Farewell, Richy?

It does feel as though it’ll be hard for Everton to hang onto Richarlison this summer.

He ended the 2021/22 season in incredible form as his performances helped keep the Toffees in the Premier League.

The ex-Watford attacker hasn’t been a consistent performer in his time at Goodison Park. There have been long spells where he’s been extremely poor and gone completely missing from games.

However, he is very talented and he steps up in big games when it matters.

And that’s why Everton are demanding top-dollar for the Brazil international.

Tottenham seem as though they’re very serious about strengthening the squad in the summer because Levy doesn’t usually give his managers that much money to spend.

Spurs have dropped off massively in the last few years so they’ll be desperate to get back to the level they were under Mauricio Pochettino when they were challenging for the Premier League and reaching the Champions League final.

Will Richarlison take them to the next level? We don’t know.

Spurs will very likely have a front three of Dejan Kulusevski, Heung-min Son and Harry Kane in 2022/23.

Where does Richarlison fit in there?

In other Everton news, a Sky Sports journalist has said the Blues should complete their first signing by the end of this week.
