Everton incoming James Tarkowski statistically blows the Toffees’ current defensive options out the water with the Burnley man likely to make a positive impact at Goodison Park.
As revealed by The Guardian’s Fabrizio Romano on Friday 17 June via his personal Twitter account, the Toffees are set to announce the signing of the 29-year-old defender after agreeing on personal terms and agent fees.
The defender is likely to make an immediate impact after making the move to Merseyside.

As per Wyscout, Tarkowski averaged 12.05 successful defensive actions per 90 which is considerably better than Michael Keane and Mason Holgate.
Ben Godfrey’s 10.49 successful actions per 90 is the closest any of the Toffees’ current defenders come to the Burnley man.
The Burnley man is also dominant in the air with the defender averaging 7.52 aerial duels per 90 which is double what Holgate averages and considerably more than Godfrey and Keane.
Tarkowski also dominates in terms of shots blocks and interceptions.
The 29-year-old will provide leadership and defensive dominance to the Toffees’ backline, but whether he will be able to perform for the duration of his rumoured 4-year contract remains to be seen.

The Burnley man is certainly a good short-term signing for the Merseyside club, and Frank Lampard does need experience in and amongst his squad.
There is just a slight worry that the long contract that he has rumoured to have been offered indicates that nothing has been learnt from past mistakes.
For too long the Toffees have been guilty of signing high-earning and underperforming talent.
Tarkowski will perform, but for how long remains to be seen.
worth splashing out £20million if the boss wants him.
