Lucas Moura comes up as Everton hold transfer talks this week

Spurs attacker Lucas Moura has come up in Everton talks over new transfers this summer, according to Paul Brown.

The Daily Star journalist has reported that the Toffees are not set to make a big push for the Brazilian though, and also like Harry Winks as a potential new midfielder.

With money still potentially owed for Dele Alli too, it appears as though there is caution surrounding any potential transfers before the 2022-23 season gets underway.

Speaking to GIVE ME SPORT late on Sunday evening [19 June], Brown shared the latest transfer news coming from Goodison Park over the past week.

“They certainly do like Winks, while Lucas Moura has come up in talks, but there’s less of a push for Everton to sign him,” he said.

“There’s also the Dele Alli situation with Everton still owing Spurs money for him.”

It is well known that Everton may need to sell big in order to buy big themselves.

The Telegraph have already reported that Spurs would like to bring in Richarlison this summer, and are prepared to offer both Winks and Moura, as well as cash.

Therefore, this is an easy link to make and it isn’t certain just how concrete any potential talks regarding Lucas have been at board level at Goodison Park.

Frank Lampard may be looking for reinforcements in the final third to strengthen his options for the new season, but the wages, as well as any transfer fee, would likely be huge for the Brazilian.

The Toffees are forced to be realistic in the transfer window, and can’t just go out splashing money for fun as they have done under Farhad Moshiri for many years now.

With talks set to be underway though, this interest may soon firm up.
