Rhys Hughes completes Everton exit to join Tranmere Rovers
Rhys Hughes has reportedly completed his Everton exit to join Tranmere Rovers as his contract was set to expire this summer.
According to Caught Offside and Bullens View journalist Matthew Smith, the Welsh midfielder will not be at the club next season.
Liverpool Echo reported recently that the club were planning an academy reshuffle and that the 20-year-old could be on his way out.
New era
Kevin Thelwell plans on restructuring the club from the ground up so it makes sense to an overhaul of academy players.
The Toffees youth teams are performing well but not to the level as some might like and a lot of that has to do with the quality of players they’ve recruited over the past.

A more measured approach could reap higher rewards and we expect to see more of that in the coming weeks.
Hughes is just one of the players to be shown the door and there will be plenty more who will not have their contracts renewed at the club.
We wish these players the best of luck but it is a fact that it takes something special to be in contention for the Toffees first team.
Frank Lampard will also surely be having a say on some of these decisions and it will be interesting to see if things change from the start of next season.
