Everton could sign Oleksandr Zinchenko over Harry Winks in major transfer move

Everton could sign Manchester City ace Oleksandr Zinchenko as an alternative to Spurs maestro Harry Winks this summer, according to the Liverpool ECHO.

The newspaper has reported in their print edition [June 24, pg. 44] that talks are still ongoing over the England international, with all three parties hopeful of a deal.

If that doesn’t work out, Zinchenko could be pushed for by Frank Lampard who could use the Ukrainian in midfield and at left-back if needed at Goodison Park.

This comes after reports of an impasse between Spurs and Everton were shared.

It was reported by i News that the Toffees wanted a loan deal, but the Londoners were pushing for a permanent deal to be agreed to despite known financial struggles.

Everton are currently held back by the Financial Fair Play rulings and would need to sell players before making big additions of their own in this calendar year.

Alternate.

This could be a really interesting one to watch.

Winks is said to be keen on a move to Goodison Park, so the only thing stopping this would be Spurs not wanting to let him move on loan for the 2022-23 season.

Everton could negotiate an option to buy into the deal to sweeten it for their Premier League rivals, but Antonio Conte may not find that appealing.

Spurs need to be careful though, if they continue to play hardball, the exact same thing could happen to them when they inevitably make their move for Richarlison.

This could go full circle, or it could be made very simply.

Lampard wants his midfield strengthening, and Zinchenko may really add more to that department on top of the fact he can fill in at the back too – that has to be considered.

Kevin Thelwell will want to make progress soon, so we could see some movement on the hunt for our new midfield in the next week.

Fingers crossed.
