Everton set to battle Sevilla for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks

Everton are reportedly set to battle La Liga giants to secure the services of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks.

According to the Liverpool Echo, the 26-year-old would favour a move to Goodison Park after being frozen out by Antonio Conte at Spurs.

He aims to play regular football under Frank Lampard and get his career back on track on Merseyside.

Seal the deal soon

Winks has been a player who’s been on Everton’s radar way before Lampard was named the replacement to Rafa Benitez.

It’s understood that he agrees with the hierarchy’s stance on the England international and has sanctioned a move for him this summer.

Spurs want Richarlison and that’s probably why these discussions are taking so long as Daniel Levy seems hell-bent on including Winks in the negotiations.

Signing the Brazilian without a sweetener will be a tad expensive for Spurs and they’ve known to be notorious spenders in the transfer window.

Winks has two years left on his contract so expecting the North London club to reduce their valuation could be wishful thinking.

Kevin Thelwell needs to show his expertise and prove why he’s worth his money to ensure that these deals go over the line sooner rather than later.

The Toffees must be proactive in the window and if possible, sign up the Spurs man before Richarlison even leaves.
