Everton target Armando Broja set to leave Chelsea after pre-season decision made

Everton have been given a boost in their chase for Armando Broja after the striker was told he won’t be going on Chelsea’s pre-season tour, according to Ora News.

The Toffees are keen to bring in the Albanian international, who spent last season on loan at Southampton and have already made formal contact about a potential deal for the £30m-rated ace [Daily Mail, July 4].

But the 20-year-old was expected to go on tour with Chelsea for Thomas Tuchel to take a closer look, but it seems the German coach has changed his mind and the player will now remain in London instead, which has left him with a decision to make.

Ora say that Broja has given Chelsea an ultimatum on his future and he wants a final answer this week.

West Ham are also interested in a deal for Broja, who would prefer to stay in London, but Everton haven’t given up and Frank Lampard is a big fan of the player.

Lampard has got great connections with Chelsea and now is the time for him to use them if he really wants the club to sign Broja this summer.

It’s clear that West Ham are currently ahead in the race for him, but Everton have the cash to do a deal after selling Richarlison and they must try to convince him that he will play more regularly at Goodison Park than he would at the London Stadium.

He is capable of playing out wide or as the central number nine which opens up a spot for him in the side, and Lampard’s love for youth proves he will get a chance.

Chelsea have seemingly made their decision early on in the window and the player isn’t willing to try and change the manager’s mind, preferring to go where he’s wanted.

It’s a huge opportunity for Everton now to prove they can compete in the market with the teams above them in the league, and they must take it with both hands.
