Everton submit £25m bid for Wolves midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White
Everton reportedly submitted a bid for £25million including add-ons to sign Wolves midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White.
According to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth, the offer was instantly turned down as Wolves want the 22-year-old to stay.
They believe that he can be a key player for them in the upcoming season and want to fend off interest from the suitors.
Via Twitter, Sheth wrote, “Bid of £25m – including add-ons – rejected. Gibbs-White is back in pre-season and scored at the weekend. As it stands, Wolves believe he can be a big player for them this season.”
Continue the pursuit
Everton cannot afford to give up their quest to sign a midfielder this summer, especially if they’ve narrowed in on signing the midfielder.
It appeared at one point that they were set to sign Harry Winks from Spurs and there was interest from all parties to get the deal done.
However, as things stand, that deal seems to be dead in the water so they are now looking to put all their eggs in the Gibbs-White basket.
At 22, he’s still in the fledgling stage of his career and will only get better with time so it’s an investment worth making.
Frank Lampard surely would’ve been frustrated with the efforts of his midfielders last season and certainly will want to freshen the squad up in that part of the pitch.
Hopefully, the Englishman is convinced by his project at Goodison Park and talks to his club if the Toffees submit another offer for him in the coming days.
