Frank Lampard makes bold decision as Andre Gomes set for Everton exit
Frank Lampard appears to have made a bold call regarding the future of Everton midfielder Andre Gomes.
According to Sky Sports news editor Alan Myers, the Toffees midfielder is on his way out of Goodison Park, and he is likely to join a Portuguese club.
Everton are expecting to get around £15million to £20million, although it’s unsure whether they could get that amount, considering he was well below par in recent seasons.
Gomes has become a shadow of the player he was a few years ago.
The 29-year-old joined from Barcelona permanently in 2019 and impressed on loan the previous season.
Since the horrific injury he suffered at Everton, he wasn’t the same player anymore. Clearly, he is on the decline, and the club have made the right choice to sell him.

The problem with Gomes is that he has been very inconsistent. He could hardly maintain a strong level of performance over a period of games, despite his qualities.
On top of that, he has the tendency to pick up freakish injuries, and it has become really difficult for any manager to build a team around him.
At Valencia, Gomes was one of the most sought-after players in Europe, but sadly, he couldn’t live up to the hype.
Sadly, his spell at Goodison Park is coming to an end, but Everton may have to reduce their asking price a bit.
He was destined to reach the top, but he is now on the decline, and moving away from the club looks to be the best option for him and the club.
