Everton offer more lucrative financial package to Amadou Onana than West Ham United
Everton have matched West Ham United’s bid for Amadou Onana and also have also offered the 20-year-old a more lucrative wage package according to The Daily Mail.
The Mail revealed on Thursday 4 August that the Lille midfielder is more inclined to link up with Frank Lampard at Goodison Park.
Furthermore, Belgium journalist Sacha Tavolieri has suggested (via Twitter, 3 August) that personal terms are almost finalised between Onana and Everton.
It’s understood that the Toffees have offered the midfielder a better wage package than West Ham as Frank Lampard looks to add to his midfield options.
Good intent
This is good intent from the Goodison Park hierarchy, with a marquee signing such as Onana an excellent way of lifting the mood around the club.

If the Toffees can get a deal over the line it will be a good piece of short-term and long-term business.
Onana is the type of player that the Toffees shouldn’t be afraid to pay a little bit extra for, with the 20-year-old having the potential to turn into a long-term asset for the club moving forward.
If Everton do land the midfielder, the potential draw of working with Lampard could well have been one of the key factors behind his decision.
This saga shows that the Merseyside club is still an attractive move for players, with Onana turning down the prospect of European football at the Hammers in favour of a move to Goodison Park.
Lampard is looking to bolster his midfield options further with The Mail reporting (2 August) that Everton are close to bringing Idrissa Gana Gueye back to the club.
