Everton: Wolves could let Conor Coady leave due to World Cup ambitions
Everton want to sign Wolves defender Conor Coady and the Molineux side could sanction a move due to the 29-year-old’s desire to play in the World Cup according to Sky Sports.
Sky Sports revealed on Thursday 4 August that Frank Lampard is an admirer of the Liverpool-born defender and that he wants to add some experience to his ranks.
It has been suggested that although Wolves don’t want to lose the 29-year-old, they are sympathetic to his ambitions to play for England in the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.
Experienced head
Coady is certainly familiar with Merseyside and Everton having been born in Liverpool and coming through the ranks across Stanley Park.
The 29-year-old could be a good fit at Everton with his experience complementing some of the club’s younger players who have come through the ranks at Goodison Park.

Lampard still has plenty of work to complete in the transfer market and whether another central defender is a pressing concern right now is certainly up for debate.
With James Tarkowski already coming through the door at Goodison Park, another experienced head would certainly ease some of their defensive woes from the 2021/22 season.
The Daily Mail has suggested (4 August) that Everton is the preferred destination for Lille midfielder Amadou Onana after the Toffees gazumped West Ham United’s contract offer.
If Lampard can add three more players to the spine of his team then the Toffees will be in a decent position for the upcoming Premier League season.
After Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s injury, a striker should probably be at the very top of his list.
