Amadou Onana sell-on clause shared as Everton hope to complete medical on Sunday

Everton hope Amadou Onana will have completed his medical by Sunday as the Toffees close in on a £30.3million move for the 20-year-old midfielder according to journalist Fraser Feltcher.

Fletcher, who has previously worked for the BBC also revealed (via Twitter, 5 August) that there is a 20 per cent sell-on clause for Lille inserted into the deal.

It’s understood that the medical could run over into Monday should it not be completed over the weekend.

Fletcher also suggested that the 20-year-old believes a move to Everton will improve his chances of going to the World Cup with Belgium.

Great addition

Onana is a great piece of long-term business for the club moving forward, with the 20-year-old only going to improve as he heads through his twenties.

Frank Lampard has been desperate to bolster his midfield options and to bring a young and in-demand player like Onana to the club is a big coup.

It will be intriguing to see if Lampard throws the youngster straight into the action when he eventually does complete his move to Goodison Park.

Everton beat West Ham United to the signing of Onana and that’s a positive sign for the club moving forward.

A young player like Onana would’ve had plenty of options to choose from, but he clearly likes the project at Goodison Park and that should raise optimism among Evertonians.

Lampard is still in desperate need of a striker and Inews has revealed (4 August) that the Toffees could turn their attention back to Armando Broja when they’ve concluded the move for Onana.
