Everton cool interest in Manchester United defender Eric Bailly after Conor Coady transfer
Everton have reportedly cooled their interest in Manchester United defender Eric Bailly after signing Conor Coady from Wolves.
According to ESPN, the defender is hoping to make progress over his move this week after being told by the club that he’s no longer needed.
While he is not on Toffees’ radar anymore, West Ham, Sevilla and Monaco continue their pursuit to sign the Ivory Coast international.
Good thing
Even if Coady did not sign, Everton can do with players better than Bailly.
The Manchester United defender has seldom been fit for a number of weeks at a stretch which makes him an extremely unreliable option.

Erik ten Hag has walked into the club and quickly made his mind up on the player and deemed him not good enough for his system.
The Toffees have signed two defenders this summer and when Yerry Mina and Ben Godfrey are fit, Frank Lampard will have up to six centre-backs to pick from.
They must no longer look to strengthen their defence and instead focus on signing another midfielder and a striker.
While Amadou Onana has been signed, there appear to be doubts over whether or not Idrissa Gueye will be moving to Goodison Park this summer.
It is understood that he’s having second thoughts over a return to Everton and is hesitating to say ‘yes’ to them.
