Anthony Gordon trains individually with Ashley ahead of Everton clash v Aston Villa
Anthony Gordon has one-on-one training with Everton coach Ashley Cole ahead of the trip to Aston Villa this weekend, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The newspaper reported on Thursday (11 August) that although Gordon, 21, has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park this summer, the attacker “was all smiles amid fresh talk about his Everton future”.
On Monday (8 August), the Newcastle Chronicle reported that Newcastle United are considering a bid for Gordon, who was one of few shining lights for Everton in the darkness of last season.

Tottenham are also said to have been interested in Gordon this summer.
Hard at work
We doubt there was any reason for Gordon to be training individually with Cole other than him to get one-on-one help from the former England left-back.
Gordon is a left-winger by trade and although Cole was a full-back, he’d have no doubt had some tips that would help the Blues attacker out, especially when he has to fulfill defensive duties.
It remains to be seen where Gordon will play against Aston Villa though.

He can play as a striker and due to Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s injury, there’s a chance Frank Lampard could name him to spearhead his attack at Villa Park on Saturday.
Cole might not be much help with that but still, Lampard must trust his former Chelsea teammate to give the best advice and guidance possible to Gordon going into the game.
Everton need to win it really.
We didn’t expect much against Chelsea on the opening day but now’s the time to start getting points on the board and showing early on that we won’t be in the relegation battle this season.
