Everton are reportedly not prioritising a move for Marseille striker Bamba Dieng despite opening talks with his agents.
According to French media outlet L’Equipe, they’re working on their main targets at the moment, but to continue to watch any progress surrounding the 22-year-old.
Fellow Premier League sides Newcastle and Fulham are also keeping tabs on the Senegal international but neither are understood to be close to signing him.
Worth it?
Dieng has been a bit-part player at the French club and has never really been front and centre of the manager’s plan in his relatively short time there.
Last season, he played more games off the bench than he did from the start and that speaks volumes as to how important he is there.

Doing a deal should be relatively easy but whether or not he’s the right fit for the Toffees, remains to be seen.
If they were given the chance of not signing a striker this summer or bringing in Dieng then they must pick the latter every day of the week.
However, there are better options out there and that seems to be why they’re not prioritising a move for the 22-year-old.
Striker Serhou Guirassy has been left out of Monaco’s matchday squad and he has been strongly linked with a move to Goodison Park.
It has been said, that he hopes to force through a move to Everton as he’s keen on changing surroundings this month.
