Darren Bent: Frank Lampard does not fancy Salomon Rondon at Everton

Darren Bent believes that Frank Lampard does not fancy Salomon Rondon to lead the line for him at Everton.

With Dominic Calvert-Lewin injured, Bent believes that if the Venezuelan had a future at the club, he would have started in the 2-1 defeat against Aston Villa.

However, he was not among the eleven, which according to Bent is a clear indicator that he might leave this month.

Speaking on Premier League Productions, the Sky Sports pundit said, “Frank doesn’t fancy him. Since he’s been at Everton he’s not got going yet. The future is uncertain for him.”

Pointless signing

There was no reason to sign Rondon in the first place and even on a free, he’s still taking up the club’s wages.

Everton would be better of paying other players that actually challenge for a place in the first team unlike Rondon who barely offer anything to team.

We believe that the hierarchy will surely be looking for clubs to sell him to as he does not have any kind of future at the club.

It’s time they get rid of players who are unnecessarily hogging up space in the squad and getting paid without barely featuring for the first team.

A new striker is the need of the hour, regardless of Rondons’s future at the club as he certainly is not quite ready for being the first choice in Calvert-Lewin’s stead.
