Everton reject new £45m bid from Chelsea for Anthony Gordon - Sky Sports
Everton have received a formal offer of £45m from Chelsea for star man Anthony Gordon, but the club are insisting the player isn’t for sale.
There were reports at the weekend that Everton had rejected a £43m bid from Chelsea, but Sky Sports say that a formal offer was never made by the London club at that time.
However they have now tabled an offer worth a total of £45m including add-ons, but Everton have maintained their stance that they have no interest in doing a deal for the 21-year-old, according to Alan Myers.
Gordon has emerged as a key man at the club after breaking into the first-team last season, and started both of the Premier League games so far as a makeshift striker for Frank Lampard.
The club are keen to give him a new contract and handed him the number ten shirt this summer, but he is open to leaving to play Champions League football if a deal can be agreed.

This is a horror scenario for Everton considering the summer they’ve had and the start to the Premier League season that’s been had.
Gordon is the star man for a reason. He’s an academy graduate who has taken to Premier League life like a duck to water and is someone that Frank Lampard has relied on heavily since joining.
After already losing Richarlison this summer it’s a huge blow should they also lose Gordon, especially considering they’re still yet to replace that Brazilian and are struggling for goals.
But if Chelsea are serious about the deal, which it certainly seems like they are, then there is little that Everton can do to stop them signing him.
The financial trouble at the club makes it far too difficult to turn down mega money for someone with minimal top flight experience and it would represent complete profit. It’s a horror show, but it seems like Gordon will inevitably go now.
