Celtic unwilling to sell Giorgos Giakoumakis as Everton eye striker move
Everton will reportedly have to look at other options instead of Celtic striker Giorgos Giakoumakis to replace Richarlison this summer.
According to The Scotsman, the Hoops have turned down approaches from a number of Premier League clubs for the 27-year-old.
Barring the Toffees, Brighton, Fulham and Bournemouth are all looking to bring in more attackers before the window shuts.
Worth pursuing?
It’s pretty evident from glancing at his stats that the Greece international certainly knows where the back of the net is.
Since his move to Celtic, he has often started but also come off the bench on occasion to devastating effect.
Before moving to Scotland, he had an impeccable campaign in the Eredivisie when he scored 26 goals in 30 league appearances.
This is a clear example that, under the right manager and in the ideal system, he will bang in plenty of goals.
However, it may be hard to convince the SPFL champions to cash in on the player and Everton may have to pay over the top in order to secure his services.
By the looks of it, Frank Lampard does not fancy Salomon Rondon either and Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s injury makes things all the more complicated for him.
There’s nobody to play the out ball to and the lack of a number nine will not just cost them goals, but it will also cost them wins that pay put them right into another relegation battle.
