Everton and Chelsea are reportedly weighing up a move for Brentford striker Ivan Toney with Manchester United in the race as well.

According to The Mirror, the Bees are bracing themselves for offers for the 26-year-old English striker in the coming days, before the window closes.

Chelsea's number one target is Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang but they could shift their focus to Toney with manager Thomas Tuchel possibly looking to bring in two strikers.

Big move

It has been reported that Bees will demand £50million for the striker who's hit the ground running in the Premier League.

While he did not compete for the Golden Boot last season, he scored 12 goals and provided five assists in 32 games - a good return for a team predicted to finish in the relegation zone.

This season, in just three games, he's already got four goal involvements - two goals and two assists - which is an incredible feat.

It only suggests that he'll get better with time and would be a perfect acquisition for Everton.

Frank Lampard has gone direct on occasion since taking over and having a big presence like Toney up front will be incredible.

He can arguably hold the ball up better than Dominic Calvert-Lewin and dominates defenders in such a way that defenders marking him end up vacating space between the lines.

However, if the London side do not budge with their valuation, it's hard to see how the Toffees can afford to sign him.

With two rich clubs in the race, they may even spark a bidding war if he does decide to leave.
