Ajax ace Mohammed Kudus forces Everton move after Manchester United ace Antony sets precedent

Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus is now refusing to train at Everton as Anthony and Lisandro Martinez set precedents while moving to Manchester United.

According to Telegraaf journalist Mike Verweij, the Ghana international is not showing up as he wants the Dutch champions to sanction a move to Goodison Park.

In his report, Verweij claims that the 22-year-old has already agreed to personal terms with the Merseyside outfit.

Via Twitter, Verweij wrote, “Mohammed #Kudus refuses to train and wants to go to #Everton . After transfers Martinez and Antony, there is an idea that striking pays off at #Ajax.”

Three midfielders?

Everton seem to be hitting the jackpot in their pursuit to sign midfielders on 31 August as there’s a chance that they can finalise moves for a trio.

The first one is the long-awaited return of Idrissa Gueye who never felt at home in Paris as he’s all but set to be announced as a Toffees player.

Manchester United midfielder James Garner is also set to follow him through the door and now it seems like another midfielder could be in the building.

Kudus has been on the Toffees’ radar for a while but with less than 48 hours to go before the deadline, he looks to be taking matters into his own hands.

However, whether the Toffees want to sign three midfielders on the same day, remains to be seen, as there’s a good chance they may not want Kudus anymore.

Clubs often agree terms with backup targets in case they do not get their primary ones, but with Everton that is not the case.

It will be interesting to see how things pan out from here on in.
