Everton midfielder Andre Gomes leaves Finch Farm to force transfer deadline day exit

Everton midfielder Andre Gomes may reportedly have played his final game for the club with a deadline day exit now looking likely.

According to the Liverpool Echo, the Portugal international has already left the first-team session at Finch Farm as the Toffees have received an approach for his transfer.

Given the club’s midfield recruitment this summer, they are more than happy to part ways with and cash in on the 29-year-old.

Finally

Gomes was unnecessarily occupying squad places in the team and it makes a whole lot of sense for him to be shown the door this summer.

Many managers tried and failed to get the best out of him and his lack of consistency is the main reason why it was so important to sell him.

Surprisingly, it’s taken so long for a transfer to materialise but now that it has, the club will be glad to see the back of him soon.

There’s unlikely to be anybody inside Goodison Park who will be against this decision – be it the club hierarchy, fans or even the players.

It remains to be see how much the club can cough up from the player’s sale as despite not rating him as a player, they set a pretty hefty price tag on him.

We reported on July 31, that Everton were desperate to cash in on the services of the Portuguese ace and were looking for a fee in the region of £20million to part ways with him.

If the fee is anywhere close to that, the Toffees will be the real winners from this deal.
