Everton defender Yerry Mina expected to return in October but not in time for Manchester United

Everton defender Yerry Mina is reportedly expecting to return to the first team in mid-October but will not be back in time for Manchester United.

According to injury expert Ben Dinnery, he was expected out two months, having last featured in August and should be in contention for the clash next weekend against Spurs.

Mina played on the opening weekend against Chelsea in which he picked up a yellow card and has not been seen in an Everton jersey since then.

Sell in January?

Mina has not been a reliable first-team player for the Toffees and it has been proven time and again that he cannot be counted on.

His injury record is atrocious and so is his attitude as he constantly is linked with the exit door.

For a while, he was the club’s best centre-back, but with the additions of Conor Coady and James Tarkowski, that is no longer the case.

If Frank Lampard persists with a back four, there’s no way we see Mina making the eleven and it’s best for all parties if he’s sold in January.

The club will make decent money from his sale and if had Colombia qualified for the World Cup, his value could’ve risen even further.

Regardless, we do not think that he’s got too long left at Everton and will be surprised if this season is not his last one at the club.

The Toffees should start offering him to potentially interested parties both in England and abroad as there’s a good chance that a Serie A or La Liga side may be willing to take the punt on him.
