Alan Shearer stunned as Cristiano Ronaldo hits 700 goals in Everton v Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo hit the landmark 700 goals mark as he scored the winner against Everton against Manchester United on Sunday.

The Manchester outfit registered a comeback victory at Goodison Park and it was a special occasion for the Portugal international.

Alan Shearer, the Premier League’s leading goal scorer was thrilled by this feat as Everton lost the game 2-1 at home.

He took to Twitter to write, “700th career club goal @Cristiano wowza.”

Deserved something more

Frank Lampard’s game plan worked to the T and the Toffees deserved at least a point from the game.

They were hard to break down, combative in midfield and while they may have struggled to create too many chances, they did just about enough to get a draw.

James Garner came off the bench and that certainly energised the team and gave them something extra in the middle of the park.

He nearly scored against his former club but was denied by a world class stop by David de Gea who outstretched to keep the ball out of the net.

On another day, Everton would have gotten the desired result and they will certainly learn from this and get better.

Lampard is certainly getting a tune out of these players and once everyone is back to full fitness, we’ll get a clearer idea as to how good this team really are.
