Next step of Everton revamp behind the scenes shared by reliable journalist
Everton are set to continue their behind the scenes revamp of the club by improving the nutrition for the men’s and women’s first-team at Finch Farm.
The Toffees have taken big strides in recent months with the football operations team at the club, bringing in Kevin Thelwell as director of football and recently appointing Jack Nayler as head of sport science too.
But according to a report from iNews [6 October] there is now a plan in place for the club to ensure that their players receive world class nutrition at the training ground.
“i understands a new operation is being put in place at their Finch Farm training base to ensure the men’s and women’s first team and Academy squads get access world class nutrition,” they wrote.
“The club are currently advertising for a front of house manager, chef de partie and sous chef to join the new set up, which should be in place before the mid-season break for the Premier League.”
While it’s great to hear that the club are addressing such issues behind the scenes, it leaves you wondering what they’ve been doing for all these years.

Have this club, who are an established Premier League outfit, not been having world class nutrition and dietary plans in recent years?
If so it’s beyond belief that that was ever allowed to happen, but thankfully it’s something that is now being sorted out and we should see improvements going forward.
Nutrition and diet is a huge part of the game these days, with a professional athlete needing to be at the peak of their powers for as long as possible.
Everton are finally pulling in the right direction and getting themselves towards the modern day with the way the club is run, and that should lead to more positive outcomes on the pitch in the long run.
But there’s no doubt that there should be concern that it was allowed to get to the stage it’s seemingly at, where it can’t be considered as world class behind the scenes and is exactly why the club has been in free-fall in recent years.
Should Everton be successful in upgrading their chefs and nutrition department before the World Cup, it will be very interesting to see the differences between the first half and second half of the campaign.
The facilities are a big part in attracting top players to the squad and Everton are a huge club who should have the best of the best when it comes to facilities. Thankfully, that’s where we’re heading now.
