Everton Women expert delighted with 'outstanding' Megan Finnigan
We’re delighted to welcome Peter MacFarlane, a member of the Everton Women Official Supporters Club, as our exclusive Everton Women expert.
Everton Women expert Peter MacFarlane was full of praise for Megan Finnigan after her performance in the Toffees’ 3-1 Women’s Super League loss to Chelsea.
The defender played the full 90 minutes and put in an accomplished display against Chelsea’s plethora of attacking talent.
MacFarlane felt the 24-year-old was “absolutely outstanding” against the reigning champions and was also pleased to see Clare Wheeler make her debut off the bench.
“In terms of standout performances, Megan Finnigan was absolutely outstanding from the first minute til the last, especially playing against the vast array of attacking talent that Chelsea possesses,” MacFarlane exclusively told Goodison News.
“Katrine Veje was her usual self, commanding, composed, and a real leader. Karen Holmgard showed why we have such high hopes for her with a commanding first half in midfield, and it was great to see Clare Wheeler make her debut off the bench, another player who will have such a positive impact on the team once she’s up to speed.”

Everton were unfortunate to come away from their clash with Chelsea with nothing to show after a dubious penalty turned the game in the London side’s favour.
The Toffees have started the season well and currently sit fifth in the league standings just three points behind Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United.
Next up is a huge game against Aston Villa who sit one place above Brian Sørensen’s team in fourth, however the Villans are coming off of a disappointing 2-1 defeat to West Ham United.
