Everton starlet Charlie Whitaker pens three-year Goodison Park deal as Kevin Thelwell gushes over him
Everton starlet Charlie Whitaker has penned a three-year Goodison Park extension which will see him commit his future to the club until 2025.
The 19-year-old joined the club seven years ago and has since come up the ranks to become one of the most important Under-21 players.
He has also trained with Frank Lampard’s senior squad and was named in the matchday squad in October 2021, but is yet to make his debut.

Speaking to the official Everton website, Kevin Thelwell said, “Charlie has shown his undoubted talent throughout his journey in our Academy and we are pleased he has committed his future to Everton.
“He has been a key part of the Under-21s’ excellent start to the season under Paul Tait and, having had a taste within our First-Team setup, we hope that provides him with all the motivation he needs to become a regular in the future.”
Good news
The teenage winger has been one of the Under-21s’ in-form players so it’s good to see him committing his future to the club.
He has scored four goals and provided four assists this season and is understood to be highly rated by the club.
The fact that he’s already made the senior matchday squad and constantly trains with the first team, suggests that he is on the cusp of breaking through.
He probably will not be far away from getting his elusive debut and the new deal clearly reflects the club’s long-term vision with him.
Former coach David Unsworth was also a huge admirer of the 19-year-old and was seen gushing over him in 2021.
We cannot wait to see the kind of player he develops into and it’s good to see him following the pathway of Anthony Gordon and Tom Davies which probably means he wants to establish himself as a first-team player at Goodison Park and not elsewhere.
