Everton and Arsenal send scouts to watch Ajax v PSV clash ahead of January transfer window

Everton reportedly had a scout in attendance to watch Eredivisie’s top-of-the-table clash between Ajax and PSV on Sunday.

According to 90Min on 7 November, a number of Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Spurs and Manchester United, also had their scouts present.

It is understood that most clubs had their eyes on Cody Gakpo, but the likes of Edson Alvarez, Mohammed Kudus, Xavi Simons, Ibrahim Sangare and Erick Gutierrez.

Kudus move on?

Everton fans will surely regret the fact that they failed to bring in Kudus even though he wanted a move to Goodison Park.

It was a summer of disarray at Ajax with a number of their key players leaving along with manager Erik ten Hag to Manchester United.

The Ghana international even refused to train with the Amsterdam club in a bid to force a move to Merseyside on transfer deadline day.

However, that did not happen and he’s gone on to make headlines for scoring cracking goals in the Champions League.

Thus, it may become more difficult for Everton to snap up his services in January but they were still in attendance to watch him among other players.

It remains to be seen if any other Toffees targets emerge from either of the two clubs or if the hierarchy is hell-bent on making a move for the 22-year-old.
