Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford is reportedly the most attainable option for Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte from the three-man shortlist.

According to TEAMtalk journalist Graeme Bailey [8 November], the other two players Conte is looking at are Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier and Brighton number one Robert Sanchez.

Pickford appears the likeliest for Spurs to sign and they could even look to secure his services on a free transfer in the summer of 2024 should he not sign a new deal at Goodison Park.

Get the contract ready

Pickford is one of the biggest assets at Everton and the club cannot allow him to leave on a free or for a knocked down price.

He’s soon entering his prime and is the number one keeper for club and country and is only getting better with each passing season.

There have been times when he’s had lapses in concentration but those have been few and far between in recent months and the Toffees certainly want him to stay for the long term.

However, like Richarlison, if Pickford gets a decent offer from Spurs or any side that competes in the Champions League and for other major honours, he may decide to leave.

At this stage, Everton will likely not come in his way so they need to ensure that he’s on a good contract as they can then demand a big transfer fee.

This summer, he will only have a year left and that’s not a position the club would want to be in so it makes sense to start ironing out a new deal for him right away and give him a decent pay hike as he’s likely to demand that.
