Everton eye major behind-the-scenes appointment to work with Kevin Thelwell
Everton are believed to be keen on appointing a Head of Emerging Talent and have advertised for the position detailing the comprehensive duties required.
According to the Training Ground Guru, the Toffees want a strategic and dynamic person to fill this role which involves working with Kevin Thelwell, the Academy Director, Head of Recruitment, Manager of Scouting and Operations and Head of Academy Recruitment.
The ideal candidate will be expected to map out a succession plan for the first team which would mean planning the under-21s and under-18s strategies as well.

Important role
The fact that this candidate will have to work with many senior employees at the club only tells you how important Everton see this position.
It’s also a very key role and one that they need to fill as soon as possible after conducting suitable interviews with the shortlisted candidates.
They will also need to keep an eye on the best homegrown talents from the different academies in the country which could suggest a change in the transfer policy.
The role also demands that the candidate goes on scouting missions so it’s not just a back-office job and there will be a lot of running around to do.
It remains to be seen who Everton end up going for but they need to ensure they get the right man for the job as it could define the first team for the better part of the next decade.
Currently, the Toffees players are in Sydney with a number of fresh faces likely to be in action soon, but behind the scenes, an overhaul appears to be ongoing.
