Everton to battle Leeds United for Torino midfielder Sasa Lukic
Everton are set to battle Leeds United for Torino midfielder Sasa Lukic with a January departure likely, according to Torinogranata.
It’s been suggested the 26-year-old could well leave Turin with there being “frictions” between him and the Serie A club (Torinogranata, 22 November).
His contract with Torino expires in the summer of 2024, and it’s understood the Serbian will consider his future once the World Cup has concluded in Qatar.
Promising
On the face of it, Lukic is an international midfielder who is currently in his prime years and considering he entering the final year and a half of his contract, it could well be a good value deal for the Toffees to pursue.
The Toffees have predominantly been linked with attacking additions so far in the lead-up to the January window, with Senegal striker Boulaye Dia (Tutto Salernitana, 13 October) the latest name to be linked to Goodison Park. However, with Abdoulaye Doucouré facing an uncertain future, another midfielder could certainly be on the cards for Frank Lampard.

It promises to be an important transfer window for the Everton boss who will be looking to add to his squad to drag them away from the relegation zone. At the moment the Toffees are far too close to the dotted line, with another nail-biting end to the season potentially in store.
Evertonians will be desperate for a couple of quality players to come through the door. Another disappointing January could make life extremely hard for the Everton boss heading into the second half of the season.
