Everton Women can get a result against high-flyers Arsenal
We’re delighted to welcome Peter MacFarlane, a member of the Everton Women Official Supporters Club, as our exclusive Everton Women expert.
Everton Women’s expert Peter MacFarlane is “confident” the Toffees can make a good account of themselves as they take on high-flying Arsenal in their latest WSL fixture.
Brian Sorensen’s side are coming off the back of two league defeats to both Manchester clubs and currently sit eighth in the table.
Despite a number of injury problems at the moment, MacFarlane feels the Toffees have shown enough against the other top sides in the league to cause Arsenal issues.
“Arsenal may be missing some top players, but they have so much quality in their squad so they will always be one of the toughest opponents for us to face,” MacFarlane exclusively told Goodison News.
“Added to that we have our own injury problems with a number of players out for the weekend’s clash, so neither team will be at full strength. I’ve certainly seen enough this season to say that these players won’t be a walkover for any side.
“We’ve played the rest of the top sides in the league already, and have made a good account of ourselves in each game, the results certainly haven’t told the full story, so I’m still confident of getting something out of the match tomorrow.
“The travelling Evertonians, myself included, will certainly be supporting the team from the first minute til the last.”
A win for Everton could see them overtake Tottenham in the table and pull themselves close to the likes of West Ham and Aston Villa.
The Toffees’ next league game is a favourable clash against ninth-place Brighton with the Seagulls enduring a tough start to the 2022/23 campaign.
