We’re delighted to welcome Peter MacFarlane, a member of the Everton Women Official Supporters Club, as our exclusive Everton Women expert.
Everton Women’s expert Peter MacFarlane was delighted to see Katja Snoejis get on the scoresheet in the Toffees’ 3-0 Continental Cup win over Sheffield United.
Snoejis opened the scoring in the second half for Sorensen’s side to register her first goal since arrive on Merseyside in the summer.
MacFarlane believes the goal against the Blades will give her confidence a huge boost as she looks to kickstart her Everton career.
“Last weekend’s Conti Cup game v Sheffield United came at a great time for us, breaking up a tough run of fixtures and giving us an opportunity to gain some much-needed confidence in front of goal.
“It was great to see Katja Snoejis get her first goal for the club, this will do her confidence the world of good, and goals for Jess Park and Hanna Bennison should also give them a boost as we head into another tough and packed-out run of fixtures.”
After their Women’s Super League trip to Arsenal, the Toffees face another Continental Cup fixture against Manchester United.
The Toffees currently sit second in their group with a win and a draw from their opening two fixtures in the competition. Sorensen will be eager to use the competition as a platform to build a good run of form in the coming weeks.
It’s been a solid start to the campaign, but it’s now time for the Toffees to kick on and turn a good season into a great one.
