Everton want to sign Atletico Madrid striker Matheus Cunha as January transfer news drops
Everton are interested in signing Matheus Cunha from Atletico Madrid, with any deal likely to be a loan with a view to a permanent move according to 90min.
The Brazil international looks set to leave the La Liga giants in the winter window after a lack of regular football saw him miss out on a spot in the Brazil squad for the World Cup.
Wolves are currently in talks to get a deal over the line, but the Toffees are also in the race along with Aston Villa and Crystal Palace for a deal in a new report.

90min say that any deal is likely to be a loan for the rest of the season with a view to a permanent move in the summer, and he is keen to work alongside Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui although no deal is done yet.
Needed
Everton are keen to add a forward to their squad during the January window to help power them away from the relegation zone and Cunha could be interested in being a regular starter.
Cunha is the type of player who can take a team from struggling at the bottom to being comfortably in mid-table, but his goal record on it’s own isn’t great.
His creativity would be a huge boost to the current forward line, with Neal Maupay hitting just one goal since his move from Brighton and Dominic Calvert-Lewin also only having one goal this season in another injury hit campaign.
With his ability to dribble between the lines, work hard off the ball and link the midfield to the attack he could be the perfect option for Lampard to strengthen and a loan deal would certainly see them save cash too which is a positive.
It will no doubt be a hard deal to get done, especially with Wolves’ connections to his agent, but if the opportunity is there and it can be done then Kevin Thelwell and Farhad Moshiri must do all they can to get it over the line.
