Everton make themselves heard in transfer pursuit of Salernitana striker Boulaye Dia

Everton have reportedly made themselves heard in the “last few hours” on 14 December in order to amplify their interest in Salernitana striker Boulaye Dia.

According to Italian media outlet Cronache Salerno, West Ham and the Toffees are persistent in their January pursuit of the 26-year-old.

Dia is relieved of his international duties for 2022 after Senegal were knocked out of the World Cup at the Round of 16 stage by England.

It looks like Everton are amplifying their pursuit and making it clear to the Serie A side that they mean business in the January transfer window.

Despite signing Neal Maupay over the summer, the Toffees wanted to bring in another attacker, but that eventually did not pan out.

It looks like they’re going to be trying again in January and it remains to be seen if they can get Dia’s services over the line.

Tutto Salernitana reported that he has a £10.3million clause that will allow the Italians to buy him outright from Villarreal which they are expected to do.

He will undoubtedly be a good fit for Frank Lampard’s side and bring much-needed energy and dynamism in the final third for Everton.

It will also be a step up for him and players do find it hard to turn down a move to the Premier League, especially if they’re not at top European clubs.
