Everton express interest in Senegal 'flyer' Nicolas Jackson, £27m buy-out clause emerges
Everton have expressed an interest in Villarreal striker Nicolas Jackson with a number of clubs tracking the 21-year-old, according to The Daily Mail.
The Toffees were understood to be interested in the Senegalese forward in the summer (Daily Mail print edition, August 15, pg. 65), although a move didn’t quite materialise.
It appears their interest hasn’t gone away with Everton along with Newcastle and Bournemouth looking at the Villarreal “flyer”. He’s contracted to the Spanish club until the summer of 2026, and it’s believed he has a release clause of £27million.
Could happen
Everton were intensely tracking the winger in the summer and considering their interest hasn’t gone away, this could well be a move they look to reignite in the January window. Jackson would provide pace and power to Frank Lampard’s forward line, something which is severely lacking at the moment.
Players’ valuations are skyrocketing in the current market which makes his £27million release clause seem fairly reasonable. He’s only 21, is playing regularly in La Liga, and has represented his country at a World Cup, which makes his valuation acceptable.

An attacker is a must for Lampard in the January window with the Toffees struggling to be a consistent threat. Neal Maupay hasn’t adapted well to life at Goodison Park and Dominic Calvert-Lewin is still plagued by the same problems.
Failure to land a couple of attacking additions could lead to another nervy end to the Premier League campaign. Evertonians will be hoping for a busy January transfer window.
